Permanent makeup, also known as Micropigmentation is a revolutionary method of applying micro insertions of natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. |

Yes, they are both permanent and have some of the same qualities but they are also very different. Only specialists in Micropigmentation are trained to perform this procedure on the face using only the techniques, tools and pigments that are designed for cosmetic tattooing. The instruments used are much more delicate in design and provide natural looking results with much less discomfort. |

Permanent cosmetics can be performed using various methods. The machine I use is the latest in technology, the Intelligent Contour Nouveau. It is a digital and computerized machine with a pen type end with a patented needle design that comes in sterilized pouches. The sterilized disposable needles are used to implant the desired pigment into the dermis layer of the skin. |

There are many advantages. In my opinion permanent make up looks more natural than topical makeup and no one will be able to tell that it is permanent. You never have to worry about the state of your makeup. You do not have to worry about smudging or reapplying and it saves you money and time. Permanent cosmetics is perfect for anyone with an active lifestyle, unsteady or arthritic hands, allergies to makeup, visual impairment, contact lenses, hay fever, watery eyes, thinning or over plucked brows, the list can go on. It is for everyone, from young to the elderly who desires a soft natural enhancement to their appearance and who always wants to look their best. |

Permanent cosmetic procedures are considered permanent because the colour is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, as with any tattoo, fading can and often does occur and may require periodic colour re-enhancement or refreshing, this can vary from two years to ten years or more. Sun exposure, smoking, skin type and the colours applied to your skin (darker colours last longer) are all factors that can affect the colour. It is important to apply sun block over the permanent makeup area at any time that you are exposed to the sun or a tanning bed to prolong the effective life of the procedure. Everyone is different and the degree of "permanent" will vary with each individual. |

This state of the art technique is specifically designed and proven to be completely safe. Each needle used comes pre-packaged and pre-sterilized designed for disposable single use only. Documented allergic reactions to permanent cosmetic procedures are extremely rare. A health history is taken to ensure the client is a good candidate for permanent cosmetics. |

Permanent cosmetics are of a skin invasive nature and therefore you may experience some discomfort. I use topical anesthetics which I apply throughout the procedure, so discomfort should be minimal. If you are particularly sensitive I slow down the procedure by reapplying and giving the topicals more time to work. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The time can vary depending on the procedure. For the initial appointment I tend to dedicate 2 - 3 hours. Much of that time is spent choosing colours, design and allowing the topical anesthetics to take effect. I place a great deal of importance on attention to detail; therefore I never rush my work. |

Almost always the implanted colour is not perfect after the first procedure. The final colour should not be considered for approximately 6 - 8 weeks, therefore a touch up appointment is usually scheduled 6 - 8 weeks after the initial appointment. The second appointment will perfect and detail the final look. |

There will be mild swelling of the area for 24 - 36 hours. For eyeliner, eyes may look red and puffy. Brows will look slightly larger but there will be minimal to no swelling. Lips will look puffy and full, as if you've had collagen injections. The colour will be darker for 4 - 5 days. There will be a light flaking of colour revealing the permanent colour under the skin which is a softer tone than the initially applied colour. Most people can go back to work the next day. I always suggest that procedures are not done just before a wedding or other important social events. |

The procedure is permanent, however you can alter small changes in colour or placement of colour with a second procedure. I recommend selecting soft, natural colours that compliment your natural skin tone and styles that are not trendy and will never go out of style. If you desire, there are options to remove tattoos safely with lasers. |

The colours will slowly fade over time. The advantage to the slow fading is that as you get older you may prefer the colour to be softer. |

Permanent make up is a beautiful investment in yourself. My prices range from $300 to $500 depending on the procedure and the detail involved. For advanced procedures such as areola/nipple restoration or scar camouflage an hourly rate is determined. It is important to note that the cost is not the most important issue when consulting a potential technician. Most important is the training and skill of the technician and the confidence of the client in that skill. |
