SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION
What Is It?
Scalp micropigmentation, like microblading, creates individual realistic looking hair for people suffering from hair loss or sparse hairlines. SMP can make hair appear fuller by strategically placing microdots of pigment on the skin, making it so the scalp isn't visible through thinning hair. For individuals who are completely bald or have extensive hair loss but also desire to wear their hair in a short or almost shaven hairstyle, scalp micropigmentation can create the illusion of a closely cropped hairdo when performed over the entirety of the head.
Typically, an SMP procedure is divided into multiple sessions. This allows the artist an opportunity to reevaluate placement, shade, and density of the pigment to create a realistic layering effect.
The goal of scalp micropigmentation is to create the appearance of tiny hair follicles to restore the look of a fuller head of hair. The procedure replicates natural hair follicles while adding density to thinning areas.

Result Notes

HEALING NOTES:
Do not pick or scratch any scabs that form after an SMP session as this could results in a "patchy" looking results. Scabs will fall off naturally. It is common for there to be a variation in pigments and shades. Avoid unprotected time in the sun as prolonged sun exposure can prematurely fade results.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate for scalp micropigmentation wants to improve the density in shortly cropped, diffusely thinned hair, and for patients trying to camouflage a hair transplant scar. This procedure is also commonly used to create a greater illusion of fullness in candidates who have already undergone surgical hair restoration.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR:
Scalp micropigmentation is usually not recommended for women with blonde hair, or patients with lighter hair colors who prefer to wear hair in a longer style.
